Unpacking the donations

Through donation funds we were able to purchase 73 copies of Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone in Khmer and one copy in English. Bernie Krisher negotiated with J.K. Rowling to have this book translated into Khmer and available for $1.00 each in Cambodia. The translation for Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets will be available soon.

January 2010: Congratulations to the Cambridge Rindge and Latin students and teachers who raised more than $18,000 to fund their trip to Cambodia for service learning in February, 2010.  Well done!  Many thanks to the Cambridge citizens, educators and businesses who helped them achieve their goal!

May 2009: Enormous thanks to the owners of The Elephant Walk restaurant in Cambridge for their generous fundraising banquet in support of the students and teachers at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School venturing to Cambodia in February, 2010.

June 2008: Thanks to the generosity of so many Cambridge citizens we exceeded our fundraising goals and raised $24,000 in 8 months!  Much of this money was donated through young Cambridge students who contributed pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters.  All this goodwill adds up to something transformative: a 5-room school in Cambodia with internet connectivity!  Soon our students will be communicating with young children in Cambodia, learning about their culture, their lives, and their history.

Presents for Peace:

One Cambridge Mom came up with this idea and asked for contributions to CSFC in lieu of presents.  She raised $100 for the school.  That will buy almost a full bookcase of books for the children!

May 2008: Thank you to Cambridge resident, Kathy, who donated $200 received in honor of her birthday.

June 2008: Thank you to 13-year-old Cambridge student, Ilana, who contributed $330 from her birthday celebration.  Way to go, Ilana!

April & May 2008: Flea Market Fundraisers in Western Mass

Recycled goods were sold in Lunenburg and Hubbardston, MA to benefit The Cambridge School for Cambodia.  Thank you, BA Wellman, for contributing $814 from these sales!

April 2008:

THANK YOU to all the generous donations and corporate sponsorship, we have now raised $16,000.  If we can raise an additional $4,000, we will be able to build a wonderful high tech school in Cambodia!  We’re getting very close!

THANK YOU to the Cambridge sisters from Graham & Parks and Shady Hill school communities who raised $2,000 at their Women’s clothing and accessories recycle-resale!  Closets got cleaned out, Cambridge and Cambodian children benefited, and a good time was had by all.

THANK YOU to our participating college students!

The Harvard University Film Benefit and The Cambodian Student Association at The University of Massachusetts raised both awareness of our efforts and brought in significant donations.

The Elephant Walk Benefit Dinner – April 6th:

THANK YOU to everyone who supported the Benefit Dinner at The Elephant Walk Restaurant on April 6th.

We raised $5,200 because of you and because of the immense generosity extended by the owners of the Elephant Walk Restaurants Group!  It was a pleasure to see the local community-building aspect of this endeavor so apparent.  Check out the photos section for pictures from the event!
