Welcome

Welcome to the city-wide website of The Cambridge School for Cambodia Project

Our school is now open! 73 Cambodian  middle school students in 7th, 8th, and 9th    grades have begun studying at The Cambridge  School. There are currently two shifts  of  students and teachers during each day and 6  teachers in total.

We have built a multi-room school with internet connectivity in rural Cambodia that  is named for our city.  We want to restore hope for Cambodian children by offering them the possibility of improving their lives through education.

At the same time, this city-wide endeavor provides our Cambridge children with a meaningful educational experience by giving our school children internet connectivity with Cambodian children who are seeking to improve themselves through education. By forging new alliances within Cambridge to achieve our goals, we hope to enhance our children’s identity as residents of this diverse and illustrious city.

Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School  teachers and students visited our school on February 17, 2010!

This group began the process of establishing  an ongoing cultural exchange between Cambodia and Cambridge. They taught in the Cambodian classrooms, played athletic games with the children, danced, sang, and learned more about the rich culture and history of Cambodia. They have returned to Cambridge with new insights, ideas, and much information to share with other students in Cambridge. Soon they will be presenting slide shows and documentaries of their educational adventure at schools across Cambridge.
